In terms of strategies for stretching your back-to-school clothing budget…
# 1 – As we’re seeing, shop the sales!
We’ve only spotlighted a small fraction of the sales going on over the next 10 days. You can check out hundreds more on-line at shopwoodfield.com before you even come to the mall.
# 2 – Plan ahead.
Have a plan in mind before you step out the door to shop. Make an inventory of the clothing your children still have and can use. Create a budget for new clothes, accordingly, and stick to it.
# 3 – Shop Early.
Merchandise is still limited – especially when it comes to the hottest items and deepest discounts.
Get to your favorite stores before all the clothes are picked over.
# 4 – Mix and Match.
Plan on purchasing basics like khakis, jeans and shirts/blouses that can easily coordinate with each other. Mix a few of the season’s trendy “must-haves” with classic items that will still be in fashion next fall.
# 5 – Layer It.
Another great versatility strategy. A hoodie over a shirt, over a short-sleeved T, is not only a popular look… Layering can take wardrobe pieces from the hottest days of late August and early September through the fall and winter.

Who created the art structures inside Woodfield?
SEARS COURT
Dominating the Sears Court, Robert Engman's sculpture of graceful, curved stainless steel soars to a height of 24 feet. Two polished arcs, weighing about 3,500 pounds, are held in tension by stainless steel aircraft cable.
The artist was co-chairman of the department of Fine Arts in the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Rhode Island school of Design, and his Master of Arts degree from Yale University. Engman also has been a visiting critic and lecturer at the schools of architecture of Princeton, University of Texas, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Engman's works have been exhibited widely and can be seen in the major public collectons, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, and the Yale University Art Gallery.
JCPENNEY COURT
JCPenney Court features a many-faceted sculpture created by Robinson Fredenthal. Constructed of baked enamel steel plated towering 24 feet above the mall floor, the six-foot square sculpture provides varying illusions from each viewing angle.
Educated at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Fredenthal has been encouraged in his work by famed sculptor Robert Engman.
ARMANI EXCHANGE COURT
The third structure, located in the Armani Exchange Court, was created by artist Ernest Trova. Trova was born in St. Louis and his father was an industrial designer, an influence that played a significant role in his art.
He has become one of the most sought-after sculptors of the 20th century and his Profile Canto #IV was created with cold-rolled steel. Trova began his career as a figurative painter, but soon moved to three-dimensional constructions and then the medium of sculpture.
